Inovations Academy: A new Scripps Ranch School
Inovations Academy is a tax payer supported alternative school, serving K - 8 students in Scripps Ranch and all of San Diego City. It is a constructivist, project based learning school with a strong character and community development program. Inspired by the ideas of French psychologist Jean Piaget, the Constructivist Educational Philosophy is based on the theory "that students generate knowledge and meaning from an interaction between their experiences and their ideas." Fun Things To Do In Scripps Ranch In July
The Scripps Ranch Friends of the Library will remain quite active over the summer months. There will be two childrens programs as well as a summer reading program. On July 14 at 3:00 PM the Gypsy Folk Ensemble will perform Dances From Around The World. On July 28 Nana Yaw Asiedu will teach the music and the importance of the cultures of Haiti, Ghana, Cuba and Brazil. There is still time to sign up for the summer reading program for children and teens. The Scripps Mesa Gardening Club will host speak Fausto Palofax, of Mission Hills Nursery, speaking about Urban forests on July 26 at 6:00 PM at the Scripps Ranch Library.
